Fits to a Tea

We find our heroes on a trip to Williamsburg to have an English tea time at Taste Tea Room and Gifts.

We got the full royal tea package. It starts with each person selecting their choice of hot or iced tea. Donna got the Dragon Pearl Jasmin and I was given Darjeeling, the champagne of teas.

The place is small with only six tables. It is decorated perfectly for large gatherings of women. The meal starts off with a Sweedish Apple Pear Sparkle served in a flute glass. This is like the office episode where Pam and Oscar are discuss books in their Finer Things Club.

We were then treated with a fresh scone w/ lemon curd and English Devon cream.

Fresh corn off the cob and potato soup topped with toasted seseme seeds. Smells very rich. A slight skim of butter on top. Has a savory flavor of butter and broth. Very smooth. I have no idea how they make the potatoes so tiny and corn sized. tiny spoons. Makes you very warm on the inside.

Most people here are women in groups. Varying in age. Subtle sounds of cooking in the background ensuring freshness. Refills excellent. Been here 45 minutes. We seated 15 min earlier than scheduled. No sandwiches yet. The woman who is srving us had brought the wrong tea. And then is bringing us the correct one. She is 86.
